Ranchi, Aug. 7 -- Security forces on Wednesday gunned down two Maoists, including a top commander of the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) carrying a bounty of Rs.15 lakh, in separate encounters in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, police said. In Jharkhand, the exchange of fire broke out between members of the PLFI and security personnel around 9.30 pm on Tuesday in Gumla district, when forces were carrying out a search operation, police officials said. The slain Maoist, Martin Kerketta, was a self-proclaimed regional commander of the proscribed outfit, he added. In Bijapur, the encounter broke out in the forest when a joint team of security forces was out on an anti-naxal operation, IGP (Bastar Range) Sundarraj P said. HTC
