New Delhi, Feb. 28 -- Police have arrested a 36-year-old website developer and an IT professional for allegedly creating more than 59 fake websites and cheating hundreds in the name of installation of mobile towers in residential and commercial properties, officers said on Thursday.

Seniors police officers said the accused have been cheating people for more than four years.

The matter came to light in December last year when a man approached the police saying he lost Rs.2 lakh to people who promised to install a mobile tower near his shop. DCP (outernorth) Nidhin Valsan said, "We found the accused were using a web hosting company Hostinger to create the website. Further probe revealed that the accused had opened over 59 websites."
