19-year-old girl hacked to death in meghalaya, accused on run
Shillong, July 19 -- A 19-year-old girl was hacked to death by a man at Williamnagar in Meghalaya's East Garo Hills on Friday, police officers aware of the matter said, adding that a hunt is on to track down the accused who is currently absconding.
Police have identified the accused as James R Sangma, a resident of Dawagre locality. However, they are yet to ascertain the motive of the murder, police said.
According to East Garo Hills superintendent of police Stephen A Rynjah, Sangma asked the girl, a resident of Dawa Matchakolgre, to meet him.
