Kolkata, Dec. 24 -- Thirteen people were on Tuesday sentenced to life by a district court for lynching a father and son in West Bengal's Murshidabad in April during violent protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025. It also ordered the state to pay Rs.15 lakh to the victims' family. Each of the 13 convicts was also sentenced to 10 years in prison for dacoity, 10 years of imprisonment for house trespass and a five-year term for rioting. All the sentences will run concurrently, the court said. P12
