1.1K vendors get NDMC approval to set up shop
New Delhi, Oct. 8 -- The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has begun issuing Certificates of Vending (COVs) to 1,169 street vendors found eligible for roadside vending in Lutyens' Delhi, based on the recent street vendor survey, senior officials said.
The civic body has also made 21 vending layout plans public for commercial spaces such as Connaught Place, Khan Market, Janpath, and Kartavya Path, where 1,614 vending slots have been earmarked.
However, vendors' associations have contested the numbers, alleging that many genuine vendors were excluded due to minor discrepancies.
