India, May 17 -- The external affairs ministry on Saturday responded to Rahul Gandhi's attack on EAM S Jaishankar that he informed Pakistan about Operation Sindoor, saying that it was an utter misrepresentation of facts.

A statement from the MEA, quoted by ANI, said that EAM S Jaishankar was talking about the early phase after Operation Sindoor started on May 7.

"EAM Dr S Jaishankar had stated that we had warned Pakistan at the start, which is clearly the early phase after Operation Sindoor's commencement. This is being falsely represented as being before the commencement. This utter misrepresentation of facts is being called out," the external publicity division of the MEA said in the statement.
