Ghaziabad, Sept. 24 -- The Allahabad High Court, while hearing a petition related to monkey menace in Ghaziabad, has impleaded the principal secretary of the UP urban development department as a respondent and directed the officer should indicate steps to ensure local bodies fulfil their responsibilities. Despite all respondents agreeing that monkey menace does exist, none is apparently is prepared to take the responsibility to control it, the court said.
The plea was filed by Raj Nagar residents Vineet Sharma, and Prajakta Singhal about alleged uncontrolled monkey population. It has also referred to a June 25, 2016, report of the HT, titled, 'More monkeys in urban areas of Ghaziabad than rural parts'. Peeyush Khandelwal
