New Delhi, Nov. 22 -- Shifts in global value chains, increased demand for domestic tariff area (DTA) market access, and the evolving impact of free trade agreements (FTAs) necessitate that special economic zone (SEZ) policies are aligned with current economic realities, commerce secretary Rajesh Agrawal on Friday said. At an industry interface in Chennai, participants also drew his attention to the lack of parity for SEZ units under concessional import duty and duty drawback schemes available to DTA units, a commerce and industry ministry statement said.
