India, Sept. 27 -- Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor-turned-politician Vijay's massive public rally in Karur took a chaotic turn on Saturday evening after overcrowding led to several people in the crowd fainting, accompanied by a brief moment of panic when a child reportedly went missing.
The event, which drew thousands of supporters, quickly became unmanageable as the crowd began inching towards the stage.
But despite the efforts to maintain order, the situation escalated, prompting Vijay to cut short his speech mid-way.
Amid the chaos, Vijay was also seen calling out the police to help people after it was reported that a child had gone missing in the crowd.
