India, July 14 -- Air India CEO Campbell Wilson has responded to the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau's (AAIB) preliminary report on the June 12 crash involving flight AI171 in Ahmedabad.

Quoting the report, Wilson said there were "no mechanical or maintenance issues with the aircraft or engine," reported news agency PTI.

The Air India CEO further added, "AAIB initial report identified no cause nor made any recommendations; urge everyone to avoid drawing premature conclusions."

He said that the airlines is continuing to conduct necessary checks on "all planes" as we will any new ones that authorities may suggest.
