'misinformation on the rise due to arbitrary use of technology'
New Delhi, Nov. 17 -- The arbitrary use of technology in mass communication has led to a growing spread of misinformation, Press Council of India (PCI) chairperson Justice (retired) Ranjana Prakash Desai said at an event to mark National Press Day on Sunday.
Union minister for information and broadcasting (I&B), railways, and electronics & information technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union MoS for I&B L Murugan also attended the event in New Delhi. This year's theme for the event was "Safeguarding Press Credibility amidst Rising Misinformation".
