Kolkata, Jan. 31 -- Sushanta Ghosh, the alleged mastermind behind the four bunkers found near the Bangladesh border, is hiding in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh, the West Bengal Police said on Thursday.
The Border Security Force (BSF) discovered the bunkers, allegedly used for smuggling operations, in Kishanganj area of Nadia district last week. Three of the bunkers were made using welded steel sheets, while another was built using bricks and cement. During the raid, cough syrup worth Rs.1.5 crore was seized from the bunkers.
"We suspect that Ghosh is hiding in Varanasi from where he has been running his smuggling operation. We have found documents of properties he owns there," Krishnanagar police superintendent Amarnath K told report...
