New Delhi, Feb. 28 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday likened the Maha Kumbh to the newly awakened consciousness of a nation breathing freely after breaking the shackles of a mindset steeped in slavery.

In an article, he also said those researching the spiritual field will study the enthusiasm of millions of Indians who participated in the Maha Kumbh and will find that India, proud of its heritage, is now moving forward with new energy. "The Maha Kumbh has concluded. The 'mahayajna' of unity has concluded," he wrote, calling the 45-day mega religious festival a Maha Kumbh of unity.
