India, Feb. 18 -- A post on X has reignited the debate over soaring rents in Bengaluru after a tenant said she was told by a broker that, "Ma'am, is room me sunlight bhi aati hai - so the rent is Rs.80,000."
The comment drew sharp reactions online. Many users scoffed at the suggestion that natural light alone could justify such a high rent, with one remarking that in Bengaluru, even a balcony could take the price up to Rs.1 lakh a month. Another noted that during the monsoon "the sun barely makes an appearance," joking that tenants should ask for a seasonal rebate.
