India, July 10 -- A freelance editor called out the casual racism Indian professionals face from international clients who only see them as "cheap labour" but expect top-tier work. Taking to Reddit's r/StartupIndia forum, the woman stated that she blocked a potential client as she was tired of hearing that "India is for cheap labour". She said that an American client reached out to her, but once she quoted a fee of $29 or Rs.2,500 for a 20-minute YouTube script, the tone drastically changed.

"India and Pakistan are for cheap labour. That's why we outsource," the client said, adding: "You guys scam us Americans."

While she added that she could have easily negotiated for more pay, she found his words out of line. "He wanted me to do it fo...
