India, Jan. 27 -- Parvathaneni Harish, Representative of India at the United Nations, lambasted Pakistan for its "false and self-serving account" of Operation Sindoor, saying that Islamabad pleaded the Indian military for cessation.

Responding sharply to comments made by Pakistan's ambassador to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Harish stated that Islamabad has a single-point agenda to harm India and its citizens.

Speaking at the UN Security Council open debate on Monday on 'Reaffirming International Rule of Law: Pathways to Reinvigorating Peace, Justice, and Multilateralism', Ahmad had made references to Operation Sindoor, Jammu and Kashmir and the Indus Waters Treaty in his remarks.
