LUCKNOW, May 19 -- Districts on the periphery of Lucknow will soon benefit from a government initiative that looks to bring down the number of patients who come here to seek the expert opinion of doctors at major state-run health facilities. The 'hub-n-spoke' model is being developed by the state medical education and health departments.

"To start with, the neurology and cardiology wings of Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) and King George's Medical University (KGMU) will render their services to patients of stroke and cardiac ailments in the peripheral districts," said principal secretary of medical education and health Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma.
