New Delhi, Jan. 21 -- Electric vehicle (EV) are projected to reach 35% of total vehicle sales in India by 2030 and grow to 10 million units by the end of this decade, creating jobs for 5 million people, Union environment minister Bhupender Yadav said on Monday.
"By 2030, India's EV fleet will avoid around 5 Metric tonnes of CO2, while in 2050, the amount could range from 110 to 380 Mt CO2. EV deployment can also considerably reduce citizens' exposure to air pollution," Yadav said at the third international conference on sustainable circularity.
