India, Sept. 20 -- New York Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez faced severe online flak after her comments on Charlie Kirk's assassination on the House floor on Friday. The 35-year-old, who is reportedly considering a 2028 presidential bid, brought up the conservative activist's stance on the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and further spoke about the 'indefinite' suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

AOC was speaking as 58 Democrats opposed a bill to honor Kirk, who was killed at a Utah university event last week. Thirty-eight Democrats voted 'present' on the act and 22 did not vote. Overall, Speaker Mike Johnson's proposal passed 310-58.
