Goa, July 31 -- While Goa had the distinction of being perhaps the only state in the country for conducting a common entrance test (GCET) at various centres in the peak of COVID 19, it now sends students and parents scurrying to the offices of Talathis and Mamlatdars. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) through its portal for admission to degree courses has shockingly made it mandatory for a Residence Certificate.

The Govt. of Goa vide its circular No.38/1/2006-RD dated 05/05/2015 is explicit in its decision that it is not required of a student to produce a Residence Certificate if the education has been without a major break.
