PONDA, March 23 -- A motorcycle rider Eliya Ali (24) from Nagzar Curti was seriously injured when an oncoming car hit to his vehicle at Khandepar, late night on Thursday.
The victim was first rushed to Ponda Sub District Hospital and then to Goa Medical College Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The pillion rider escaped with minor injuries. The motorcycle was severely damaged in the accident.
Addressing the media a week ago, the Kerya locals feared the "unplanned" four lane widening work at Kerya Khandepar and that too without proper sign boards, would lead to accidents. Their fears came true with the accident late night on Thursday.
