Brief Summary: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a significant postoperative complication. Risk factors for AKI include impaired renal perfusion, decreased functional renal reserve, as well as advanced age, peripheral arterial disease, diabetes mellitus, renovascular disease and congestive heart failure.
