Brief Summary: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the routine method for managing gallstone disease. This is considered a safe procedure with low risk of severe complications. Lesions to the deep bile ducts is, however, a rare complication from laparoscopic cholecystectomy that may have devastating consequences.
