Brief Summary: Obstetric anal sphincter injuries are a source of significant short-term (pain, bleeding, infection, suture dehiscence), medium-term (anorectovaginal fistulas, sexual dysfunction), and long-term (anal incontinence in 30-60% of cases) morbidity.
