Brief Summary: This retrospective observational study aims to evaluate the short-term fracture risk associated with antihypertensive medication initiation using two complementary designs: a self-controlled case series (SCCS) and a target trial emulation (TTE). We use the Korean Health Insurance Review and Assessment (HIRA) database to identify adults aged >=50 with a new prescription for antihypertensive therapy and at least one incident non-traumatic fracture.
