Brief Summary: Arthritis, an inflammatory condition characterized by pain, redness, heat and swelling in joints, is the leading cause of disability and reduced quality of life in US adults, and accounts for the highest total health care spending in the US. Among all foods, dietary berries including blueberries have been associated with improved cardiometabolic biomarker score in a seven-year national survey in US adults, and thus blueberries warrant further investigation for these chronic conditions.
