Monrovia, June 23 -- Liberia has won the bid to host the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Centre (EYSDC), a major regional institution under the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The decision, announced by the ECOWAS Commission, follows a competitive selection process initiated after recent institutional relocations within the regional bloc.
A key figure in the Liberian legislature, Representative Anthony Williams of Maryland County District 2 and ranking member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, has praised Minister of Foreign Affairs Sara Beysolow Nyanti for her "exceptional strategic leadership" in securing the hosting rights for Liberia.
