Monrovia, April 14 -- With Liberia facing mounting development challenges following a sharp cut in U.S. aid, Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti has turned to new allies in the Gulf to help keep critical services afloat, particularly in healthcare.

On Thursday, Minister Nyanti met with Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief), during a high-level visit to Riyadh aimed at strengthening Liberia's humanitarian ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a dispatch from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Nyanti described the visit as "a necessary step to bridge the critical gaps created by the USAID aid cut."
