Monrovia, Nov. 28 -- Liberia has been re-elected to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council in the highly coveted Category A, reaffirming its status as one of the world's leading maritime nations.
The announcement has been greeted with national pride and international acclaim, as Liberia continues to strengthen its position as a global shipping powerhouse.
In a statement issued on Friday, Cllr. Neto Zarzar Lighe Sr., Commissioner and CEO of the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA), congratulated the Liberia on what he described as a "well-deserved and historic achievement." He said Liberia's re-election underscores its "ongoing leadership, credibility, and dedication to a safe, secure, and sustainable maritime industry."
