GANTA, Aug. 12 -- Liberia's Labor Inspector General Charles S. Brown has expressed deep disappointment and frustration over widespread labor violations in Ganta City, following an inspection of several business facilities, including Jackie Bar and Resistances.

During his visit, Brown uncovered troubling practices such as the absence of formal employment contracts, lack of offer letters, and severe underpayment of workers - all in violation of Liberia's labor laws. Many employees are reportedly paid between US$65 and US$70 per month, far below the fair wage benchmark of US$140 or more.
