Monrovia, April 2 -- A local activist, Fred Jaffa, has been arrested after demanding justice for Mammie Williams, a woman allegedly assaulted by her fiance, Mechezedeck Toe, the former Mayor of Harper City.

On March 22, Williams, 30, a resident of Zone 7, reported being brutally attacked by Toe, suffering visible bruises and a bloody nose. She filed the report with the Women and Children Protection Division of the Liberia National Police in Pleebo. However, the case took an unexpected turn when Jaffa, who had posted about the assault on social media to raise awareness, was arrested.
