Monrovia, Dec. 17 -- The Chairman of the Solidarity and Trust for a New Day (STAND), Mulbah Morlu, has warned of what he described as a potential attempt by elements within the government to provoke violence during ongoing peaceful protests.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Morlu said that while maintaining peace is a collective national responsibility, the constitutional duty to ensure law and order rests with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.
According to the statement, STAND has received what Morlu described as credible information suggesting that individuals sympathetic to the current administration may be infiltrating protest activities in an effort to instigate unrest and discredit the demonstrations.
