Monrovia, Jan. 29 -- Grand Kru County Senator Albert Chie has called for a revision of several provisions in the 1986 Liberian Constitution, proposing amendments to be considered at a national referendum.

The proposed changes aim to reduce the tenure of elected officials, including the President, Senators, and members of the House of Representatives.

In a communication presented to the Liberian Senate on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, Senator Chie outlined eight key provisions he believes should be amended to align with the evolving needs of the nation. These changes, he argues, would improve governance and reflect the will of the Liberian people.
