Monrovia, Feb. 6 -- Representative Bernard Blue Benson of Electoral District #17, Montserrado County, has formally written government authorities seeking clarification on the procedures, oversight, and accountability mechanisms governing salary tax withholding for members of the House of Representatives and their staff.

In his communication, Rep. Benson raised concerns about transparency, consistency, and accountability in the application of salary tax deductions administered by offices responsible for payroll management and revenue collection.

The inquiry, he noted, is aimed at ensuring strict compliance with national tax laws while safeguarding the rights and obligations of lawmakers and legislative employees.
