Monrovia, Jan. 26 -- The National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) has launched an investigation into reports of a pox-like disease among inmates at a prison facility in Greenville, Sinoe County. The development comes amid heightened concerns over the ongoing Mpox outbreak in Africa and across the globe, which NPHIL is actively addressing in Liberia.

According to a press release issued by NPHIL, County and District Surveillance Officers have been mobilized to conduct a comprehensive epidemiological investigation. Their efforts include assessing suspected cases among the inmates and evaluating the symptoms of the reported disease.
