GANTA, Aug. 22 -- Senator Samuel Kogar has alleged that he was the target of an alleged assassination attempt by a man believed to be in his early 50s, who has now been apprehended and handed over to traditional authorities for further investigation.

The suspect, identified as a Guinean national, reportedly confessed to being sent with the mission to kill Senator Kogar on his farm in Nimba.

The man, known locally as a traditional "zoe" from Guinea, has yet to disclose the identities of those who allegedly hired him to carry out this deadly assignment.
