Monrovia, Feb. 23 -- The National Commission on Disabilities (NCD) has successfully intervened in a situation involving members of the visually impaired community and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, resulting in the peaceful resolution of tensions and the reunification of twelve children with their parents.
The situation arose on Thursday, February 19, 2026, following the Ministry's enforcement action to remove children who were accompanying their parents to beg on the streets. The action forms part of the Ministry's ongoing implementation of the Save the Future Project, launched in 2024 to remove children under the age of 18 from street situations and ensure their protection and access to improved opportunities....
