Monrovia, May 15 -- The Movement for Progressive Change (MPC) has called on Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon and members of the House of Representatives to focus on addressing Liberia's growing economic challenges following Koon's election as Speaker.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the MPC urged lawmakers to set aside political divisions and concentrate on what it termed "bread-and-butter" issues, including unemployment, rising living costs, and poor public services.
"This moment marks an important turning point for the Legislature and the nation," the party stated, describing the speakership election as a peaceful resolution of recent political tension.
