Monrovia, March 20 -- A disturbing incident occurred on the evening of March 19, 2025, in Grand Bassa District when a man, who is allegedly claiming to be a former U.S. Marine, reportedly held a team of Chinese miners at gunpoint for unknown reasons.



According to eyewitness accounts, the man arrived at the mining site in an American vehicle. He then proceeded to threaten the miners, tying them with ropes while pointing a firearm at them. The alarming incident took place in the Mat House Community, Grand Bassa District #1, around 7:00 PM.
