Monrovia, Jan. 9 -- An officer of the Liberia National Police assigned to the Emergency Response Unit (ERU), Sergeant Marcus Beweh, is in police custody following a shooting incident that left two civilians injured in Kanweaken, Gbeapo District, River Gee County.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 7, when Sergeant Beweh, who was en route to Maryland County, made a brief stop in Kanweaken. According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the vehicle accompanying the sergeant parked in an area designated by county police as a motorcycle-only parking zone.
