MONROVIA, Aug. 29 -- The Government of Liberia (GoL) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), with support from the European Union (EU) through the Liberian Food Safety Initiative, has introduced a new Voluntary Third-Party Food Safety Assurance (vTPA) Scheme aimed at enhancing food safety practices across Liberia.

Speaking at the launch event on Thursday, H. Uriah Bryant, Assistant Minister for Industry at the Ministry of Commerce, emphasized that the new framework will "set a new standard for excellence, trust, and safety in Liberia's food systems."
