Monrovia, Oct. 29 -- After more than a decade of dormancy, Liberia has officially regained full membership in the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), marking a historic return to the global tourism community and reaffirming the government's commitment to reviving the sector as a driver of inclusive growth and national renewal.

This milestone follows years of inactivity due to unfulfilled obligations, but it has now been reversed through deliberate reforms and renewed leadership under President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. Guided by his ARREST Agenda, which prioritizes tourism as a catalyst for economic diversification, President Boakai has reawakened what he once described as Liberia's "sleeping giant."
