
India, Dec. 14 -- Emphasising Telanganas innovation-driven development agenda under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, IPEMAPoultry India said the momentum generated by the ongoing Telangana Rising Global Summit is playing a transformative role in shaping the future of Indias poultry sector.
Addressing the 40th Annual Conference and National Symposium of the Indian Poultry Science Association (IPSACON 2025) at Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Hyderabad, IPEMA noted that the states strong focus on technology adoption, entrepreneurship and research-led growth is positioning Telangana as a leading poultry hub in the country. The conference witnessed participation from more than 400 scientists, policymakers, academicians, industry leaders and students from across India.
Organised jointly by the ICARDirectorate of Poultry Research (ICARDPR) and the Indian Poultry Science Association (IPSA), IPSACON 2025 was held under the theme Flock to the Future: Embracing Technology, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability in Poultry Production for Protein Security in Viksit Bharat. Senior dignitaries, including Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) Vice-Chancellor Dr. K.C. Veeranna and IAS officer Dr. K. Ilambarithi, commended Telanganas rapid growth in poultry production and its significant contribution to national protein security.
Speaking at the inaugural session, IPEMA President Uday Singh Bayas reiterated the development philosophy articulated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the Telangana Rising Global Summit. He underscored the need for the poultry sector to evolve through innovation, deeper scientific engagement and stronger academiaindustry collaboration.
Bayas highlighted the success of the 17th Poultry India Expo 2025 and IPEMAs ongoing knowledge-driven initiatives, including technical seminars, Vice-Chancellors Meets and youth skill development programmes. He stressed the importance of science-led growth in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and extended an invitation to global poultry experts to participate in the 18th Poultry India Expo, scheduled to be held from November 2527, 2026, with Poultry Knowledge Day on November 24.
He added that Telanganas poultry sector, supported by proactive government policies and a growing innovation ecosystem, is playing a vital role in strengthening nutritional security and improving rural livelihoods.
IPSACON 2025 also recognised excellence in poultry science. Dr. V. Ayyagari, former Director of ICARDPR, was conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to the field. Several eminent scientists and IPSA Fellows were also honoured for their dedicated service to research and sectoral advancement.
IPEMA concluded that sustained investment in research, accelerated technology adoption and robust academiaindustry partnerships are critical to strengthening Indias poultry value chain and ensuring the sectors long-term contribution to national growth and food security.
