
India, Nov. 30 -- Indias position as a global poultry powerhouse took centre stage at the 17th Poultry India Expo 2025, which concluded in Hyderabad after witnessing its largest-ever participation.
With India ranking 2nd in global egg production and among the top four broiler-producing nations, the expo highlighted the sectors rapid expansion and its critical contribution to national nutrition, rural livelihoods and economic momentum.
It was inaugurated by Telangana Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar Goud and Tummala Nageswara Rao, the four-day eventheld from November 25 to 28 at the HITEX Exhibition Centreemerged as South Asias biggest and most influential poultry convergence.
It was Organised by the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA), the expo operated under the theme One Nation, One Expo, accelerating innovation, partnerships and knowledge exchange across the value chain.
This years edition recorded unprecedented alliances with 16 overseas poultry associations, over 40 national-level bodies, 18 poultry media houses, 15 global media organisations and more than 100 digital influencers.
These collaborations not only enhanced global visibility but also strengthened farmer connect and technology adoption across Indias fast-growing poultry landscape.
Day 1 featured strong government presence, with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar Goud and Tummala Nageswara Rao reaffirming support for sustainability, rural market development and sectoral progress. On Poultry Knowledge Day, Animal Husbandry Minister Vakiti Srihari engaged with stakeholders, offering policy direction and encouraging future-ready transformation.
BJP MP Dr K Laxman who has attended the event said Indias global standings2nd in egg production and 4th in chicken productionare a matter of national pride.
He highlighted the Union governments efforts to promote egg consumption to combat malnutrition and pointed to subsidy programmes under the National Livestock Mission. The expo set multiple records, hosting 500+ exhibitors from 50+ countries, attracting more than 50,000 visitors, and spanning 35,000 sq. meters across seven world-class halls. Live demonstrations showcased innovations in breeding, genetics, hatchery automation, feed milling, ventilation systems, veterinary diagnostics, sustainable egg processing, manure management and green poultry technologies.
Sessions also addressed pressing challenges including emerging diseases, sustainability models, raw material volatility and adoption of smart technologies.
The valedictory session saw an overwhelming response, with Poultry India President Uday Singh Bayas thanking the Telangana government for its support to the poultry industry.
He urged relaxation of the 40-foot road access rule and removal of certain HMDA norms to ease establishment of new poultry units.He added that if Telangana introduces electricity subsidies similar to Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, the state could emerge as Indias No. 1 poultry hub.
Bayas further encouraged youth to embrace advanced technologies entering the sector, stating that new-age innovation can ensure higher profits and a bright future for Indias poultry industry.
Aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the expo empowered farmers, veterinarians, researchers, entrepreneurs and students, marking the beginning of the next phase of Indias poultry-led economic transformation.
