COLOMBO, Jan. 21 -- India on Wednesday (21) commissioned its second Bailey Bridge, a 120-foot structure, this time on the B-492 Kandy-Ragala Road, restoring a key transport link in Sri Lanka's central hills as part of New Delhi's post-Cyclone Ditwah reconstruction assistance.

Built under India's US$450 million reconstruction and rehabilitation assistance to Sri Lanka, the bridge was jointly inaugurated by India's Deputy High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Satyanjal Pandey, and Sri Lankan Member of Parliament Manjula Suraweera Arachchi.
