COLOMBO, Oct. 20 -- The Sri Lanka Police announced that motorists in the Southern Province can now pay traffic spot fines online via the GovPay platform, effective from Monday (20).
Speaking at a press briefing, Harsha Purasinghe, Board Member of the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA), said the facility, initially launched in the Western Province, has now been extended to both the Western and Southern Provinces.
To support the rollout in the Southern Province, more than 400 mobile devices have been issued to police stations to enable officers to issue fines digitally and facilitate online payments on the spot.
