COLOMBO, Feb. 5 -- The Free Media Movement (FMM) has expressed grave concerns over the Attorney General's decision to halt legal proceedings against three suspects in the Lasanth Wickrematunga killing, calling it a 'deeply alarming development' and warning that it raises serious questions about accountability and the rule of law.
In a statement issued on Wednesday (5), the organization has deemed the action a blatant betrayal of the President's pledge to uphold the rule of law and deliver justice for the many crimes against journalists and demanded President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and his government act immediately and decisively to rectify this injustice.
