Kathmandu, June 16 -- Rubbishing the demands of some lawmakers and educationists, the government has stood against converting the ownership of private schools. Registering amendments to the School Education Bill, dozens of lawmakers had proposed converting existing private schools into trusts in order to control the commercialisation in the education sector.
However, the Ministry of Education has proposed that private schools should be allowed to continue operating under their existing status.
