Kanchanpur, June 20 -- Five Nepal Army personnel were injured on Friday morning when their vehicle overturned near the four-lane bridge over the Mahakali River, where reconstruction of a damaged guide bund is underway.

The accident occurred while the soldiers were heading to the construction site.

"All of them are in normal condition and have been taken to Mahakali Provincial Hospital for treatment," said Lieutenant Colonel Nishant Pandit, chief engineer of the Nepal Army's Engineering Division. "It was a vehicle carrying our own troops that overturned."

The guide bund had been destroyed by last year's flood in the Mahakali River, and the Nepal Army is currently leading the reconstruction effort after the area was declared disaster-hit...
