Army outfits claim five of the six athletics gold medals on offer
Tulsipur (Dang), April 20 -- Chandra Kala Lamgade of Nepal Police Club (NPC) set second national record in athletics in as many days but Tribhuvan Army Club dominated the show winning five of the six gold medals on offer at the Beljhundi Stadium on Friday.
Lamgade won the women's javelin throw gold medal with new national record of 44.5 meters. She bettered her own previous national record of 43.94m which she had set during the seventh National Games. Lamgade's record in javelin throw comes a day after the NPC athlete set national record in shot put event with a hurl of 12.04-meter. Laxmi Tharu of the Army club was restricted to silver with a throw of 41.25m while Sima Kumari Tharu bagged the bronze medals with 38.30m throw.
